MOTD – Mac Neutral Warm Palette

It has been awhile since I did a #motd post. Not because I don’t want to but they are a little more time consuming than a normal review post. So they have gone by the way side in my busy life. I am hoping to get one in on a monthly basis if possible. I will see how I go.

I am loving this Mac warm neutrals x15 palette! I have found it easy to come up with different looks every day. It blends well and the colours are gorgeous. So todays look is using this palette to create a simple glam look.

Mac Cosmetics Warm Neutral x15 Palette

Eyes:

I started out using the lightest matte shade (Brule) to set my prolong wear concealer. This combo gave me a good base to start. Using my Makeup Addictions brush I applied Saddle in the crease then deepened up the outer v and a little into the crease with Dark Brew.

With the lid I did a little bit of a cut crease using concealer to cover the half of the lid that I wanted to apply the light shade to. I wanted it to stand out more and not blend in as much. With my Makuep Geek Foil Eyeshadow Brush I applied Honey Lust where I placed the conealer. For a liner I used my go to Mac eye liner pencil in Costa Riche. I don’t tend to do a wing liner on my eyes as they are hooded and I don’t like the look of the wing and I feel like it drags my eyes down. I did apply lashes with this look as I am trying to find some lashes that I like wearing and are easy to apply. This set are from Ardelle and are the Glamour Wispies. I actually didn’t mind these ones as I didn’t feel ridiculous wearing them.

Under the eyes I used Saddle to smoke it out and Dark Brew closer to the lash line and the Mac Costa Riche eye liner in my waterline to smoke it up a little more. My inner corner highlight is from the Makeup Geek x Kathleen Lights Highlighter palette.

Base:

I have been testing out The Ordinary Silicone Primer so this is what I used today. For my foundation I mixed two shades of the Maybelline Matte and Poreless foundation (220 & 310) as sometimes I feel like 220 is a little too light. For my dark circles I used the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in Medium and Nars Radiant Creamy concealer in Custard to highlight. I just can’t go past these two at the moment. They work well and the colours are great so I just can’t justify buying something different to try.

Cheeks:

My go to contour at the moment is the Designer Brand Bronzing Stick. I talked about it in my Hits and Misses post for May. It is a great colour, easy to blend which I love especially when I am in a hurry. I used the Anastasia Beverly HIlls Contour Powder in Havana to set my contour.

Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Score

For a blush I couldn’t stray from the Urban Decay Afterglow Blush in Score. This blush is so flattering and works with so many different looks. Then to finish off the base I used my Makeup Geek x Kathleen Lights highlighter palette to highlight the high points of my face.

Lips:

Last but not least I used my new Mac Cosmetics lip liner in Spice and topped it with the Mac Velvet Lip Pencil in Oh Honey. Such a pretty combo. It is my current go to as it works with so many looks.

I hope you like this look. Enjoy your Sunday and remember ‘a Sunday well spent brings a week of content’. xx
