Why is it that these sales always happen when we don’t have the money to spend! or is it just me? I am currently putting myself on a budget! Yep, self inflicted. Once I have worked my brain around that, I will write a post on how I have set that up (and how I am coping with it)! But for this sale I decided to give myself a set amount of cash and not go over! and I am proud to say I came in just under!
Wednesday is my day off each week so I thought that it was perfect timing for the first day of the sale. Usually by the time I get there, there is nothing left as I have left it too late. Of course we have had several days of heavy rain and the most reasonable way to spend it would have been at home, on the couch, watching a movie. Not this little makeup addicted girl. She drove to the closest Priceline store (25 minutes away) in the pouring rain. The carpark had huge puddles and I even got my feet wet (with bystanders laughing) as I ran from the carpark to cover just to get in early on the first day (of course I left my umbrella at home on the kitchen bench). Makeup and sale obsessed girl that I am laughed with them and kept on going! I was on a mission!
I will start with the main purchase, the one that has excited me the most. The Rimmel London Kate Sculpting Palette in 002 Coral Glow. Are you surprised I picked Coral? If you follow me on Instagram then probably not! I will do a review on this product soon.
Website claims: ‘Rimmel’s first Sculpting & Highlighting Kit designed by Kate Moss. 3 shades to highlight, contour and define. Long-lasting colours seamlessly blends with natural skin tone for a healthy radiant sculpted look.’
Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lip Liner in Tiramisu – This is my first Lip liner from this range and it is such a nice colour and formula. There are 7 shades in this range, so I will definitely be looking into getting more of these and for $8.95 full price they are a bargain even when they are not on sale!
Website claims: ‘Rimmel’s long wear pencil lip liner Comfortable wear up to 8 hours Creamy texture which glides on precisely on lips. Rich vibrant colour blends.’
Australis Match Maker Shade Adjusting Drops in Darkening – I wanted to try these as I have some foundations that are too light and I would like to try and use them. But at $19.95 full price I didn’t want to buy these until I could get them on sale.
Website claims: ‘Transform a ‘nearly right’ foundation into ‘Mr Right’ to create your perfect foundation match.’
Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara – I love this mascara! This is my 3rd tube and I always grab it when the sale is on. Not that it is expensive to start with but I love a bargain. This mascara makes my eyelashes look like falsies! (thank goodness cause I am hopeless at applying falsies) It does clump a little as it starts to get towards the end of the tube, but I just run a clean mascara want through to separate the lashes. I am happy to do this for the payoff I get in length.
Website claims: ‘royal sister! there’s a fabulous addition to the family of lash princess mascaras in black. the special, conic shape of the fiber brush provides lashes with length and dramatic volume as well as a false-lash effect. and just like her sister, the packaging of the drama queen is decorated with a gorgeous evening dress – this time in black-mint. princess(ence) deluxe!’
Essence All Eyes On Me Waterproof Mascara – I am always looking for a waterproof mascara for my bottom lashes otherwise my oily skin plays havoc and I end up with black marks all over my under eyes. No Thank You! So I thought I would give this a go for the huge price of $2.46! (Full price $4.10)
Website Claims: ‘Always reliable: the waterproof version of the all eyes on me mascara is smudge and waterproof. This all-round talent provides volume, length and curve. Since it can also withstand sweat or tears, it’s ideal for sporting activities or movie nights with your best friends.’
Essence glitter in the air one for all shimmer drops – I was very curious about this and for $2.46 I thought I would give it a go. (Full price $4.10) this is one of their trend additions so not sure if it will a be limited edition product or not. I am also unsure how much I will use it, but for the price I thought I would give it a go without loosing too much.
Website claims: ‘shimmer all over. the drops are true multi-talents and provide golden shimmer effects on your body and face. mix them with day cream, foundation or body lotion or apply the drops on their own.’
Essence XXXL shine lipgloss – Not sure if I will really like this. I grabbed it as it was only ? ($3.70 Full price) but when I opened it and swatched it I wasn’t overly impressed.
Website claimss: ‘timeless, trendy and beautiful! the wonderfully shiny lipglosses are available in bright as well as subtle shades. they give your lips a beautifully pampered look, amazing shine and fresh color. glossy and light on your lips – these lipglosses are simply irresistible! ‘
That is it! I think the only disappointing product will be the Essence lipgloss. Which is ok considering the price. But I will keep you updated. Did you buy anything in the sale? What did you pick up? Let me know in the comments below. xx
