I am not sure about you but I am forever on the hunt for my holy grail correcting palette. One that will hide my dark circles while leaving my under eyes looking crease free. Lets face it, once we get past the mid twenties, most of us have trouble with some form of creasing. And no one wants to look older than they actually are. So finding that perfect combination of coverage and nourishment is every girls crusade.
So on my last trip to Mecca Maxima one of the gorgeous sales assistants showed me the Stila Correct & Perfect Palette. Its an all-in-one correcting palette and I must say I am definitely impressed.
The packaging is completely gold with the palette itself also gold flaunting a gorgeous pink/cream watercolour marbled front. There is a gold boarder and stila is printed in gold in the middle. Such a gorgeous work of art before you even start.
Inside there are 5 cream colours and 2 powders. The creams are covered by a clear flap to protect them from any powder fallout that may occur during application – what a great idea. The creams are extremely soft and velvety and go on like a dream. The palette also includes a mirror which is an awesome size.
Stila have included a pamphlet with a description of each colour’s use, correcting tips and tricks to help anyone that is a little unsure which colour to use where. There are also additional colour correcting how-to videos on the stillacosmetics.com website. To find these you need to go into the product and the videos are located at the bottom of the page.
On their website it states:
- Five lightweight, sheer to medium, buildable coloured creams and two tinted translucent finishing powders allow for customized coverage.
- Specially formulated with nourishing vitamins A, C and E and Arclay Youth Revival Bio-Available Mineral Complex™ to help diminish the appearance of pores and fine lines, moisturize and control oil
- Long-wearing, waterproof
- Easy to master! Includes a user-friendly booklet filled with makeup artist inspired tips and tricks.
I have found this palette a life saver and my new ‘I can’t live without’ makeup item. I always prep my under eye area first with my eye cream. Once that has soaked in, the peach cream is my go to colour. I then set it lightly with the yellow powder using my real techniques setting brush, the result is amazing. If I am going for a full glam look, I will follow up with my normal concealer (Mac Pro-longwear concealer or Nars radiant creamy concealer) and again set lightly with the yellow powder in this palette. The powder is so lightweight, there is no caking even when I put my normal concealer over the top for a second layer. This morning I used my damp Real Techniques Sponge instead of a brush to set it. Magic.
Let me know if you have tried this palette, your thoughts and how you like to use it. If you have dark circles, I would love to hear how you cover them and what are your favourite products.
