My Current Makeup Essentials for Spring

I love Spring! It is one of my two favourite seasons (the other being Autumn). Living in Australia and being November means Spring is well and truly here and nearly over! (I have been so busy enjoying Spring that my blog has been a little neglected). I find it always makes me feel like I am alive and ready to play. Well socialise again instead of going home, taking a warm shower and snuggling up into my warm PJ’s. For me, Spring means bronzed skin and pops of colour. So I thought I would share with you my current makeup essentials for Spring 2017.

Urban Decay Beached Bronzer

Urban Decay Beached Bronzer

Bronzer is a must have! Oh who am I kidding I use it in winter too, but in Spring I need it even more. I want to look warm, sun-kissed and glowey and nothing says that more than Bronzer. My favourite bronzer for Spring is my Urban Decay Beached Bronzer. It is the perfect colour and the packaging screams sunshine, beach days and well, spring. I have written a full review a little while ago so you can read it here if you would like a little more detail on this one. But in short, it is the perfect warm toned bronzing powder everyone needs in their collection!

While we are talking about bronzer, don’t forget the rest of the body. I love a quick fake tan to help me feel like I am ready for the season. My two favourites are the Australis Rapid Tan Purple Mousse and the LeTan Self Tanning Foam in Ultra Dark. These two work great with my medium toned skin. Dont forget your tannin mitt to apply without staining your hands.

Bright Lipsticks

Nothing screams Spring more than a nice pop of colour on the lips! So think bright corals and pinks when looking for a spring colour. Those who follow me know that I am a coral toned girl and with that in mind, these are the lipsticks that are in my top drawer for easy access during the warm months.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip pencil – Bolero

The Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bolero is a favourite from last Spring. It is a light bright coral without being too over powering. Great for a simple day time look and perfect for those that prefer a more nude look.

Emily Wilson Cosmetics – Chopstix

My Emily Wilson Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Chopstix is a gorgeous bright coral. As soon as I saw it I new I had to order it! This is fairly new to her collection and I love it! It looks great with a simple bronze eye look. If you would like to buy this, or anything from Emily’s range, you can use my discount code listed below. Thanks Emily!

Dose of Colours – Desi x Katy – Hot Fire

A another new one to my collection is the Dose of Colours Desi x Katy Liquid Lipstick in Hot Fire. Damn Girl! This lipstick is definitely on Fire. The perfect orange red lipstick. Where have you been all my life? I am glad I grabbed this when they restocked their line.

Leesa Barr Cosmetics – Less is More

When I am looking for a soft peach nude I always reach for my Leesa Barr Cosmetics lipstick in Less is More. Such a pretty peach toned nude colour and its a perfect every day colour. It is comfortable on the lips too. Leesa has also given me a discount code for my followers. You can find the link and code down below.

I’m not sure about you, but I feel like a change of season means everything needs to change. My darker toned winter vibes are just too heavy for Spring. So my usual deep blushes need to go back into the drawer and I pull out some of my favourite spring time blushes. I love a lighter, brighter flush to the cheeks.

When I am looking for a peach toned blush with a golden glow I will always reach for Too Faced, Papa Don’t Peach blush. It is more of a sheen and gives a nice glow to the cheeks. Its super pretty and great during the day. This one was released last year with their Sweet Peach Collection and is still available in Mecca Stores in Australia.

Urban Decay’s Afterglow blush in the colour Score is my all time favourite! It gives the perfect amount of colour every time. It blends beautifully without even trying. I have written a review on this one, so you can have a read about it here if you want to know more.

Waterproof Mascara

Even when I don’t wear makeup I still love to wear Mascara. It helps to define my hooded eyes a little more. With Spring comes swimming (well in my neck of the woods it gets warm very quickly. It is already feeling a lot like summer…eek) so waterproof means I don’t need to worry about looking like a panda when I get out of the water. I love the Too Faced Waterproof version of Better Than Sex (review here) and the Mac Extended Play Gigablack Lash. I haven’t written a review on The Gigablack Lash, but it is a great waterproof mascara and I use it every day on my lower lashes as the brush is nice and small and it never ends up everywhere. I am currently testing out a few more affordable options. So stay tuned for that.

That’s my current favourite makeup products! Some old time favourites and a few new ones too. There are so many more that I love using during the warmer months but I thought I would share with you just a few of my favourites. What are you current favourites? xx
