Favourites | July

You may have already noticed but I have decided to change my monthly post name of ‘Hits and Misses’ to ‘Favourites’. Not sure why but I felt like it needed a change and there are times when I don’t really have any ‘misses’ to discuss and this month was one of those months. So the name ‘hits and misses’ just didn’t quite fit this months post.

Mecca Cosmetica Primer

I have quite a few primers sitting in my drawer at the moment. Most of them have a different purpose such as stay matte or pore filling and I also have favourites for different seasons. I decided to mix it up a bit and pulled out the Mecca Cosmetica Soft Focus Primer that I hadn’t used in awhile. It is close to being empty so thought I should use it up. I forgot how much I love this one. Always works perfectly and it smells amazing as well. If you would like to read my full review on it you can find it here.

Garbo and Kelly Eyebrow Pencil

This is a newbie for me. I hadn’t heard of this brand before until recently when I went into my local Hairhouse Warehouse store. The packaging is so pretty and reminded me of Anastasia Beverly Hills brow products. I love their brow wiz but haven’t bought it for awhile as i have to order it from Sephora +postage and it wasn’t lasting very long so I tried to live without it.

When I saw this one there I decided to give it a go. I am loving it! I can’t believe I went so long without my ABH brow wiz. I will write a review and a little more info about this brand a little later this month.

Nyx Contour Palette

I have had this palette for ages but only just started to use it last month. I purchased it with my Flybuys points, so technically it was free, but to purchase it is nearly $40 which I think is quite expensive for an affordable cosmetic company. So I contemplated taking it back. Of course I didn’t and I finally decided to try it.

I have been really enjoying it. The contour and bronze colours have been my go to and the banana powder I have quite liked as well.  I am going to do a blog post reviewing and comparing this to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette soon so keep an eye out for that.

Cass Beauty Lashes

If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen these babies in lots of my flatlays. I mean hey, look at the packaging! Stunning! So I have finally decided to stop taking pictures and actually wear them. Now I am not a lash wearing junkie. Honestly I really struggle with lashes full stop. I can never get them on properly and then they look crazy on me and I end up taking them off before I even leave the house. Everyone always looks so pretty when they wear them and they take that perfect eye look to a new level. My mission? To find a pair I like and start wearing them.

Cass Beauty False Lashes in Jasmine

I have started my journey with the style ‘Jasmine’* from CassBeauty and these lashes are stunning. The first day I wore them I had compliments on my lashes. I nearly fell over. They were easy to put on and comfortable to wear.  To top it off, they are an Australian ‘mum’ business and those that know me know that I love supporting small businesses. As they say, ‘when you buy from a small business someone does a happy dance’.
