Review | Leesa Barr Multi Tasking Pressed Powder Foundation

I love small businesses! I love the personal touch you get from the person that owns the business because they are passionate about their product. The pride they take in their product, packing and as the saying goes ‘When you buy from a small business an actual person does a little happy dance’. This makes me feel great about the purchase as well.

Starting out in my blogging world I never realised how many small businesses there are out there and little did I know one was right there in my back yard. Today I want to introduce you to a small Australian makeup business founded by a local mum at our school. Yep I wasn’t joking when I said my backyard!

Leesa Barr Makeup is ‘Intelligent, luxury makeup that’s good for your skin’. I have only purchased her Multi Tasking Pressed Powder Foundation and her Luxe Powder Brush so far but I am in love and can’t wait to try more of the range. So today will be a review of these.

About Leesa Barr – from the website

‘We’ve been on a mission to research and discover the perfect, premium ingredients for our makeup, creating it with the latest technology. Intelligent, toxic-free and packed with healing oils, we’re blurring the line between skincare and cosmetics. Best of all, our products are lovingly tested on friends and family meaning they’re 100% cruelty free.

Packaging

When I received my parcel it was beautifully presented. As mine was hand delivered, I am unsure how it would arrive if ordered online. But I was impressed with the gorgeous black bag with the rose gold logo on the front. I always love pretty packaging and wrapping, it adds to the fun when buying.

The powder is encased in an all black sturdy plastic compact with Leesa’s logo embossed on the front. The compact closes with a clasp rather than a metallic one and contains a full size mirror inside. All labelling on the back is in rose gold writing. It is simple and elegant all rolled into one.

The Product

Website states: ‘Multi-Tasking Pressed Powder Foundation. Enhancing all Skin Types. Apply as an All-In-One Concealer, Foundation or Finishing Powder. Our Anti-Crease Formulation Protects and Provides a Radiant Multi-Dimensional Finish. CONTAINS NATURAL SUNSCREEN’

I purchased the powder foundation in number 4 and I am in love. It does not sit in any of my fine lines and also has a blurring effect. The colour is great and it has great staying power.

When I first applied it I already had had my makeup on all day. But I was so excited I put it on to see how it looked. I then decided to go for a huge walk and was sweating profusely due to the insane humidity that day. I thought for sure there would be nothing left on my face. But to my surprise my makeup still looked perfect when I got home. There was no break down at all. I could tell this would become my new best friend!

This powder is a powder foundation so can be used alone or will give you extra coverage over your liquid foundation if used as a finishing powder.  As I like a full coverage when it comes to my base I don’t tend to use it alone. I prefer it use it as a finishing powder. However I did test it on its own. It worked well but I did have a little shine at the end of my day.

The Luxe brush is everything a girl wants in a brush. From the gold handle to the super soft bristles. It not only looks good but is gorgeous to use.

Final Thoughts

I am in love! and cannot wait to try some more of Leesa’s products. Although the powder was a little on the higher end cost wise (similar to Mac Studio Fix Powder) it is great quality and also supporting a mum with her small business. So for me it is a double win.

The brush is stunning and for the price is great value for money! It has become my new favourite powder brush! I will definately buy from Leesa again.

Do you know a small business that you think I should review? Let me know in the comments below. Have a fabulous day xx
