Anastasia Beverley Hills Modern Renaissance Palette Review

I really enjoyed doing the last review on the Maybelline Blushed Nudes Palette which included a couple of looks. So decided I might do this for some of my other eyeshadow palettes.

This palette is hands down one of my favourites. I ordered this late last year when it came back into stock. I believe it was a limited edition but was so popular it is now one of their permanent range. Thank goodness!! As this will be a palette that I definitely hit pan on and will need to replace. Yes it is that good!

The palette itself is a dusty mauve velvet which is stunning. That being said, you do need clean hands when handling it as it marks easily with any stray makeup and this can be a little hard to clean off. With a palette that looks this good, I want it to stay gorgeous for as long as possible!

Inside is a great sized mirror, 11 matte shadows and 3 metallic ones. There is also a double sided brush. Can I just say that I never use the brush or applicator enclosed in a palette, but this brush is awesome! It is soft and perfect for applying eyeshadow. I love it!

The website states: ‘An essential eye shadow collection featuring 14 shades, including neutral and berry tones. Use Anastasia Beverly Hills first permanent palette, Modern Renaissance to create endless looks for daytime and evening.’

The shadows are soft and buttery and blend like a dream. The pigment is perfect and each colour swatches beautifully. The colours are a perfect combination of warm toned shadows giving an unending option of looks for both day and night. I also love that most of them are matte as too many shimmery eyeshadows in a palette can be very limiting. But this palette has the perfect shimmers needed for any look you might want to create.

Anastasia Beverley Hills Modern Renaissance Swatches

I have used this palette a lot since I bought it, but decided it was time to write a review. I can’t believe I haven’t done one yet! But to ensure I have given it a good going over I used it every day for a week. I didn’t create a look I didn’t love! So much so, I was going away at the end of my week for two nights with my hubby and decided it would be the only palette I would need! From a subtle day time look to a spectacular night time glam, this palette creates them all!

Monday….

I love using orange tones they are my favourite colour to use in makeup looks at the moment…

Tuesday…..

This look didn’t photograph as well. The lighting was off that day and the colours didn’t really shine (natural lighting can be a pain to work with). I wasn’t going to include it, but thought I should as it was the look I created on the day.

Wednesday….

This one was a little more out of my comfort zone being pink tones. But I honestly really liked how it turned out.

Thursday….

This is one of my favourite daytime easy to do makeup looks. Only two colours makes this a great one for when you are in a hurry.

Friday….

This is a little more grunge but I still really liked it.  (please excuse my messy hair..I spend an hour on my makeup and my hair gets about 5 minutes attention before I walk out the door…lol)

So that is a week in the world of Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance. This palette is the bomb! I continued creating looks for the next 4 or 5 days and I am going to struggle to put it down to try some others! If I had to choose one palette this would be the one. So much so, I think it would be the one thing I would grab if my house was on fire…..LOL.

I haven’t listed colours or other products used in this post as I thought that this post will end up extremely long. So I will post a few Makeup of the Day Blog Posts with all the product details over the coming weeks. Please let me know below if there is one you would like me to post about first. Otherwise I will just start with Monday and go through the days of the week. Have a fabulous day! xx
