Hi gorgeous girls, in case you don’t follow me on Instagram you may not be aware that I am now on holidays from my day job in finance. This is giving me heaps of time to play with makeup and of course write more blog posts….eeek, I am in heaven! So over the next few weeks you will see more blog posts each week than the usual two. Hope you don’t mind.
After reviewing the Urban Decay De-slick makeup setting spray earlier this week I decided to stick to the Urban Decay brand for todays review. After seeing one of my favourite you tubers use this eyeshadow in a tutorial, I had to have it! It looked absolutely stunning!
I have never purchased or tried an Urban Decay eyeshadow before, and the price is a little more than I would normally spend on an individual colour. So my fingers were crossed it would be worth it. Especially after you-tube made me buy it! hehehe.
In Australia you can buy Urban Decay from Mecca. Have I mentioned before how much I love this store? I am sure my husband is grateful that we don’t live close to one, but that is what internet shopping is all about, right?….hehe
On the website it states:
‘Lightly swept across the lid for a sheer wash of colour or layered for a more dramatic effect, these highly acclaimed eye shadows deliver insane colour pay-off and long-wearing capabilities. Available in an array of shades and finishes, the crease-resistant formula distributes easily across the lid and blends perfectly to deliver a seamless eye look. The unique formulation uses a proprietary blend of ingredients to bind pigment, adhere it to the eyelid and give the shadow its glide. The result is colour that stays on your lids, sparkle that doesn’t fall and a velvety smooth texture that blends like a dream.’
The packaging is a funky silver metal look flip top case made from high quality hard plastic about the size of an 20cent piece. The shadow itself is a smooth creamy texture and swatches beautifully.
The colour is a beautiful deep brown with a green duo chrome reflect. For best result I found applying with your finger the way to go. It definitely lasted well on a night out and compliments were received on the colour.
Would I buy more of their individual colours? Maybe. The price point makes me pause, especially when they have pallets like the Shadow Box eyeshadow palette (this one is definitely on my wish list) for not much more and you are getting 12 colours! But if there was a colour that was a must have in my eyes, I would purchase again as the quality is amazing!
Stay tuned, I will be using this eyeshadow in this weeks Makeup Look of the Day so make sure you check it out to see how awesome this colour is!
